Services to offer with your Digital Agency
Level 2 - Joan Harris: Checklist for services to offer, and basics to get better at them
Welcome Avatar! Running an agency is all fine and well, but there is not much to run if you haven’t defined your services yet. This is a fluid process which you can build out over time by adding more services as you grow. Let’s dig in.
"I have a life and it only goes in one direction. Forward."
- Don Draper, 'Mad Men'.
Step 1: What services to offer
The first step is to decide what service(s) you want to provide to your future clients. You can operate as a full-service agency, providing one service or combining a few complementary ones.
In my personal case, I started out with SEO / SEM, and slowly started adding web development as the agency grew. After knowing Google Ads (SEM), adding a service like Facebook/Linkedin/Twitter ads is relatively easy and a lot less complicated.
Some examples + where to learn the basics
Below I added a list with basic digital agency services and where you can learn the basics. Now you do not need to become an absolute wizard in any of these areas, but from experience it does really help to at least know the basics of these skills before you start outsourcing to others to grow your agency.
Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
Search Engine Marketing (SEM)
Social Media Management / Ads (SMM)
Email Marketing
CRM Management & Marketing Automations
Web Development
Content Marketing
Display Ads & YouTube Ads
Ecommerce Development
UX/UI Design & Other Web design
I will quickly run through each of these in more detail to give you an idea of where to learn more about these skills, and how profitable they can be.
