Welcome Avatar! After a hiatus due to a ramp up in agency volume, this WiFi agency rodent is back. There have been so many shifts in the digital agency universe as of late, that it took some playing around to incorporate everything (and we’re still not done).

The more things change, the more they stay the same. That said, if you’ve been doing SEO for clients the traditional way (pump out content, build backlinks, rinse and repeat), there are some additional things to start paying attention to. The nice thing is that all these new “AIO” (AI Optimization) services can be packaged and offered as add-ons for the regular SEO work your agency already offers.

Google’s AI systems — and other LLMs — are getting significantly better at evaluating brand signals, and this is changing the link building game in a big way. What this effectively means is that building a real brand for your clients is becoming just as important as building links, and the brand needs to be omnipresent just like the narrator of a novel with multiple characters.

In this article we will cover:

  1. What are brand signals and why does Google care?

  2. How Google AI evaluates brand authority

  3. What this means for your link building strategy

  4. How to build brand signals for clients (actionable steps)

  5. How to sell this as a service

  6. Downloads

    1. Brand Signal Audit Template

    2. Brand Signal Scoring Sheet

    3. Brand Building Campaign Planner

    4. Client Pitch Deck Snippet

Let’s dig in.
